Ni RIP, ni DEP, ni retratos suyos, ni "hay qué penita". Alexander McQueen ha tomado una decisión y la vida continua. Prefiero quedarme con sus creaciones y sus palabras.
" You have to suppress your ego. I like the concept of dressing people. I used to not care whether people bought the clothes or not, but I kind of like it now. I wouldn't label that commercialism; it's more like I do this work because I want people to wear it."
" As a designer, you've always got to push yourself forward; you've always got to keep up with the trends or make your own trends. That's what I do."
" I'm interested in designing for posterity. People who buy McQueen are going to hand the clothes down to their children, and that's very rare today."
" I find beauty in the grotesque, like most artists," McQueen says. "I have to force people to look at things."
" I used to do it to shock people, to provoke a reaction, but now I just do it for myself. The shows always reflect where I am emotionally in my own life."
" I can't get sucked into that celebrity thing, because I think it's just crass," the designer says. "”That would show a lack of respect for the work, for everyone working on the shows, because when the pictures come out it's all about who's in the front row. What you see in the work is the person himself. And my heart is in my work."
" At the end of the day, I'm left with the real me. What you see is what you get."
" I care about my work," McQueen said "There are only a handful of designers that influence other designers, and I have to keep one step ahead of the game."
" Things rot. It was all about decay. I used flowers because they die."
" People always ask me why I don't stick around after the show, but stick around for what? I never go to my after-show party. I've been a rock kid. I've done all that madness. Things change. I know what kind of world I work in, and I find the social and political side of it incredibly stressful. I'm now in a position where I don't have to play the game, and I choose not to. I visit. I don't stay."

Su idea de la moda y las palabras que has seleccionado me parecen geniales. Desde luego, sabía perfectamente en qué mundo se movía y, añun así, se mantuvo fiel hasta el final a su idea del trabajo que debía realizar. Un besito.
Su muerte me ha dado mucho qué pensar. Estoy bastante desconcertada. No ha querido seguir viviendo sin su madre, por lo visto. Por mucho genio que uno sea, lo primero es lo primero y si falla eso, lo demás no vale, o eso parece. No estoy a favor de que la decisión de irse de este mundo la tomemos nosotros, pero soy incapaz de juzgarle porque no quisiera nunca verme en una situación así.

me encanta que saqueis estos post resumen de pasarelas, estoy con tanto lio que no tengo tiempo ni para la moda. asi me haceis un trabajillo, aunque de aqui a la proxima temporada siempre se me olvida todo.
